Restorations work is challenging in all the best ways. If you’re the type of person who enjoys variety, flexibility, and excitement, working at New Creations might offer you exactly what you’re looking for.
The Industry
The restorations industry is always changing. Those who do restorations work are always facing new and interesting challenges that keep us on our toes. On a regular basis, we’re pushed to innovate in ways previously thought impossible; pushed to find quick and effective solutions to often complex problems; pushed to get creative with our skills, tools, and know-how.
At New Creations, new challenges don’t just crop up here and there – when doing restorations work, they crop up on a daily (if not hourly) basis. It’s a job with lots of variety and lots of reward. Take a look what a typical day might look like for a New Creations technician.
The Day
In the morning, you get a call from a client who needs your help with their RV. A section of vinyl flooring that had been loose for a long time has ripped completely away and now hangs by a thread.
You drive out to see them with your truck and all your tools, take a look, and determine that you can fix it. So, you do! It takes just over two hours, but when it’s done, it looks as good as new, and the client is thrilled.
After you clean up, you head to your next call. It’s the home of an older couple, and their cat, for reasons unknown, went absolutely wild yesterday and scratched, broke, or otherwise wrecked a bunch of their stuff. Three small wooden figurines are broken. A leather jacket is torn. A few other assorted trinkets are scratched.
Unfortunately, these are irreplaceable items – all owned by grandparents who have passed them down for generations. They can’t simply be replaced! You reassure the couple that everything is fixable; they’re thrilled and relieved and thank you profusely. However, it’s a big job, so you schedule a time to come back next week, then head on your way.
Your next call sends you downtown, to a hotel and casino in need of some repair and restorations work. The manager there has noticed that their chandelier (which is worth nearly a million dollars) has somehow sustained some damage. Like nearly everything else, though, it’s fixable, so you and your team get to work.
For the remainder of the day, you work on fixing the chandelier, but you aren’t quite finished, so you plan to return tomorrow in the early afternoon – you have to drive your kids to school first, and then you have a dentist appointment, so you need a later start.
Then, you head home!
